Answer:

x=3 and y=2

Explanation:

in simultaneous equation

4x+6y=24

-2(2x+y=8) =-4x-2y=-16 we multiply it by -2 because in order to get y we must make x dissapear

__________

when we add the two equations vertically we get 4y=8

we get the y value 2 because y=8/4

now we get the value of y we can apply 2 in one of the equations

if we put it in 4x+6y=24 or 2x+y=8

4x+6(2)=24 2x +(2)=8

4x+12=24 2x=8-2

4x=24-12 2x =6

4x=12 x =3

x=3 _____
