A ladder is 12 metres long . It leans against a wall with one end on the ground 7 metres from the wall. The other end just reaches a windowsill. Calculate the height of the windowsill above the ground.

window sill height =9.75 meters

Explanation:

Ladder^2=height^2+length^2

12^2=height^2+7^2

144=height^2+49

height^2=144-49=95

height=9.75
