When Europeans came to the Americas during the Colombian exchange they had three main goals, God, gold and glory. Christianity was imposed on natives along with European languages. The purpose of imposing language was to assimilate natives into the European culture.

Answer:

When the europeans came to latin America they forced away the native language of people that lived in Latin America. The Latin Americans were forced to learn the language of the country that colonized them... They were not allowed to speak their Latin American language anymore, they had to speak the European language.

^^ hope this helps! :)
