A popular brand of running shoes costs

a local store $68 for each pair. If the
store sells the shoes for $119, what is
the percent of increase in the price?

increased by 75%
explanation:———-
since 68 is your original price, it would serve as 100% which you could make into a fraction
68/100. now, since we are trying to find what 119 would be we can put it over x.
so now 68/100 = 119/x and we cross multiply!
68x = 11,900
divide 11,900 by 68 and
x = 175
so we can see that 119 is 175% of 68, meaning there was a 175% increase !

Answer:

75%

Explanation:

119-68 = 51

Now divide this 51 by the original price which is 68

51/68=0.75

0.75*100=75%

Hope it helps:)
