Answer and explanation:

A rational number is a number that can expressed as fraction where the demoninator of the fraction is not zero, example 2/3, 5/1, 4/6 etc

An integer is a whole number, negative or positive example - 2, 3, -4, 1 etc

Adding and subtracting integers and rational numbers are not very much different. Most numbers are rational numbers anyway. When adding rational numbers 1/2+3/1 for instance, we simply add them like normal fractions:

1/2+3/1= 1+6/2=7/2=2 1/2

When adding intergers 2+4, we add normally as in the number line = 6
