Explanation:

the volume of such a prism is simply

length × width × depth

in our case

length = 4 × 1/3 ft = 4/3 ft

width = 4 × 1/3 ft = 4/3 ft

depth = 3 × 1/3 ft = 1 ft

volume = 4/3 × 4/3 × 1 = 16/9 ft³ (D.)
