Can someone tell me if my answer is correct (and correct it if it's not)?

What is the area of an EQUALATERAL triangle with a side length of 6? I'm getting 5.19615242, is this right?

Answer:

15.59.

Explanation:

The altitude of equilateral triangle bisects the base

So 1/2 base = 3.

Altitude of the triangle is found from Pythagoras theorem:

= sqrt(6^2 - 3^2)

= sqrt27

Area = 1/2 base * altitude

= 3 * sqrt27

= 15.59
