there is no direct variation the changes in both x and y are not constant. In y, it is first 62 then it becomes 140. The change here is 78. However, for the next two numbers ( 140 and 256), the change should also be 78. That's how you would know that it is constant and represents a direct variation. But in this case it isn't.
