Answer:

300

Explanation:

Step 1:

2(2) = 4

Step 2:

4 + 6 = 10

Step 3:

10^(2) = 100

Step 4:

3(100) = 300

It is 300

OR:

(2x + 6)^(2) = (2x)^(2) + 6^(2) +2(2x)(6)

=
4x^(2) + 36 + 24x

3(4x^(2) + 36 + 24x) = 12x^(2) + 108 + 72x

Substituting x = 2:

12(2^(2)) + 108 + 72(2)

= 300

Explanation:

something if wrong here.

3(2x + 6)² for x = 2 is

3(2×2 + 6)² = 3(4 + 6)² = 3(10)² = 3×100 = 300

this IS correct, as you can easily see by following my calculation steps.

but none of your answer options show 300.

I could imagine that the expression was meant to be maybe

(3(2x + 6) + 6)²

and then

(3(2×2 + 6) + 6)² = (3(4 + 6) + 6)² = (3×10 + 6)² =

= (30 + 6)² = 36² = 1296
