First, we use the area formula for a circle

A=\pi(r)^2

Where r = 2.5 m because it's half the diameter.

A=\pi(2.5m)^2=\pi(6.25m^2)

Then, we use pi = 3.14 and divide by two because they are asking for the semi-circle (half).

A_{\text{semi}}=(3.14(6.25))/(2)m^2\approx9.8m^2

Hence, the area of the semi-circular shape is 9.8 square meters.
