Find the equation of the axis of symmetry of the graph of

y = (x + 3)^2 - 5

That's correct! The axis of symmetry of a parabola in the form y = a(x - h)^2 + k is always x = h. In this case, the vertex of the parabola y = (x + 3)^2 - 5 is (-3, -5), so the equation of the axis of symmetry is x = -3
