Jonathan has 80 stamps. Melvin has 60 stamps.

How many stamps must Melvin give to Jonathan so that the number of stamps Jonathan has is 4 times that of Melvin's?

j = 80, m = 60

80+60=4m

140 = 4m + m

140 = 5m

28 = m

therefore

60 - 28 = 32

melvin must give jonathan 32 stamps so he has 4 times the amount melvin has
