First, the companies would only show what they want the public to see, which could give people the wrong idea about a person, or a place. An example of this would be in an election. If social media only showed the good side of the wrong person, everyone would vote for him/her. This would also mean the genuine candidate would lose the election due to bias information about him/her. The next reason is we would have no privacy. We humans value privacy, and without it critical information could be stolen. It would also cause us a lot of harm if we are being watched by these companies. They would know our daily routine, what kind of stuff we buy, where we live, and who we talk to. Personal data is valued by everyone
