Answer: 29

Explanation:

Gabriela went w -2 ( 2 lengths less than william)

William went w

Total is 56

So w - 2 + w = 56

Combine like terms: 2w - 2 = 56

Add the two ro both sides: 2 + 2 - 2w = 56 + 2

2w / 2 = 58 / 2

w = 29

May or may not be correct

Answer:

29

Explanation:

w = # william laps

then w-2 = gabby's laps together they sum to 56

w + w-2 = 56 add 2 to both sides of the equation

2w =58

w = 29 <=====william's laps
