you are on a bridge holding a rock. a boat is 10 meters long approaching the bridge at 5 m/s. you drop the rock as the front of the boat passes beneath you, and it hits the back of the boat. how high is the bridge above the water?

Answer:

t = S / V = 10 m / 5 m/s = 2 sec

It will take 2 seconds for the rock to fall

H = 1/2 g t^2

H = 1/2 * 9.80 * 4 = 19.6 m
