Explanation:

note that each of the values in the range is half its corresponding value in the domain

- 4 ÷ 2 = - 2

- 2 ÷ 2 = - 1

0 ÷ 2 = 0

2 ÷ 2 = 1

4 ÷ 2 = 2

then

f(x) =
(1)/(2) x = 0.5x
