in this graph the y intercept is zero

to calculate the slope we look at the rise divided by the run.

to get from the bottom point to the top point, you go up 6 and to the right 2

so the slope is 6/2 which is 3

now we have the equation y=3x+0

the zero goes away and we have

y=3x

the slope is rise/run

if you look from the two endpoints, from one endpoint we go 3 units up and then 1 unit to the right , so our rise is 3 and our run is 1, so 3/1 , which is 3

in slope form, that would be y = 3x
