(3x - 1.5)/(0.9 - 1.5) = 0
and verify the solution?

x = 0.5

Explanation:

the denominator of the rational expression cannot be zero as this would make it undefined.

we have to therefore equate the numerator to zero and solve for x

3x - 1.5 = 0 ( add 1.5 to both sides )

3x = 1.5 ( divide both sides by 3 )

x = 0.5

As a check


(3x-1.5)/(0.9-1.5)

=
(3(0.5)-1.5)/(-0.6)

=
(1.5-1.5)/(-0.6)

=
(0)/(-0.6)

= 0 thus solution is verified
