False, the radiation from food and medical procedures have very little consequences. The radiation from a nuclear power plant can kill people which makes it a very large problem if not contained properly.

Moreover, the food or people are exposed to these radiations for a very small duration of time due to which they are not harmful.

Examples of radiations used in food irradiation and medical procedures are gamma radiation, ultrasound, X-rays, electromagnetic rays et cetera.

In contrast, the radiations emitted from a nuclear power plant are radioactive in nature which can affect the health of an individual. For example, they may cause skin cancer et cetera.
