Note that the volume of a pyramid is :

V=(1)/(3)A_(base)* h

For shape 1 :

The base is a rectangle and the area of the rectangle is length x width :

A = 3 x 4 = 12 cm^2

The height of the pyramid is 5 cm

and volume of shape 1 is :

V=(1)/(3)(12)(5)=20\operatorname{cm}^3

For shape 2 :

The base is a triangle and the area of a triangle is 1/2 of base x height :

A = (4 x 3)/2 = 6 cm^2

The height of the pyramid is 5cm

and the volume of shape 2 will be :

V=(1)/(3)(6)(5)=10\operatorname{cm}^3

From the results, the volume of ice in shape 1 (20 cm^3) is 2 times the volume of ice in shape 2 (10 cm^3)

For the answers in order :

1. 20 cm^3

2. 10 cm^3

3. 2 times or twice as much

4. is Not correct
