Answer:

2 more cages

Explanation:

A pair of guinea pigs means , 2 guinea pigs per cage

If the pet store has 8 cages how many more cages will the pet store need?

For 8 cages

1 cage = 2 guinea pigs

8 cages = x

Cross Multiply

x = 8 × 2 guinea pigs

x = 16 guinea pigs

The pet store has 20 guinea pigs

The amount of guinea pigs left

= 20 - 16

= 4 guinea pigs

2 guinea pigs = 1 cage

4 guinea pigs = x

Cross Multiply.

2x = 4

x = 4/2

x = 2 cages

Therefore, the pet store needs 2 more cages
