Yes, it is. Actually, it depends on if the fractions you're dividing have like or unlike denominators. If they have unlike, then yes. Let's say I was dividing 3/4 by 1/2. I would first, find the LCM (least common denominator) which in this case is already 4. I would then make 1/2 into 4ths. Lets see: 1/2x 2/2 (how many times 2'goes into 4) and I get 2/4. Now I'm ready to divide. Sorry, this problem you can't divide but you can subtract: 3/4-2/4= 1/4 Hope I helped!

Into an improper fraction. An improper fraction is a fraction where the denominator is smaller than the numerator.

Example: Mixed number: 1 2/3
Improper fraction: 5/3
