The given equation is,

→ 3(x - 2) = -3x + 42

Let's solve for the value of x,

→ 3(x - 2) = -3x + 42

→ 3x - 6 = -3x + 42

→ 3x + 3x = 42 + 6

→ 6x = 48

→ x = 48/6

→ [ x = 8 ]

Hence, the value of x is 8.

Well I don't know !
Let's work it out together:

3(x - 2) = -3x + 42

Eliminate parentheses: 3x - 6 = -3x + 42

Add 6 to each side: 3x = -3x + 48

Add 3x to each side: 6x = 48

Divide each side by 6 : x = 8
