In which way did the Magna Carta Pl. limits on the power of England's monarchy

Magna carta forbade the king (King John of England) to imprison the barons without a fair trial: until then the king could imprison people without a trial.

Additionally, some other decisions of the king were limited, as changes of feudal payments had to be approved by a council (the king could not just demand more, as was possible before)
