Well, the second option is definitely the correct answer. It is never a good thing to keep a closed mind, because you will miss on so much in life. So it doesn't only refer to classical music, but to life itself. You do need to "persevere", "experience the music", and "embrace aestheticism" in order to appreciate classical music, but never "keep a closed mind".
