4inches = 1/3 of a foot (4inches x 3 = 12 inches) - so she can cut 3 out of each foot

1 yard = 3 feet - so she can cut 3 x 3 = 9 out of each yard

18 x 9 = 162 pieces

we know that

1\ yard=36\ inches

Step 1

Convert yards to inches

18\ yards=18*36=648\ inches

Step 2

Divide the total inches of fabric by
4 to obtain the number of pieces that Andrea can cut from the original place

so

(648)/(4)= 162\ pieces

therefore

the answer is

162\ pieces
