the speed of light is 3x10^8 meters per secound.The sun is approximately 230,000,000,000 meters from mars .How many secounds does it take for sunlight to reach mars?

you got to use dimensional analysis...

( 230,000,000,000 Meters ) x ( Seconds / 3*10^8 Meters ) = ANSWER

The meters cancel out and you are left with Seconds. divide and that's your answer :)
