How was the middle class different after industrial revolution than it was before?

Before the Industrial Revolution, Europe had a small middle class. After the Industrial Revolution, the middle class greatly grew.

The middle class was incredibly different after the Industrialization in the sense that it became and actual class--mostly due to the fact that the lower classes had been able to "rise up" economically through finding work in the factories, thus much of the lower class became the middle class.
