Simplifying
1.1x + 8 = 9.1

Reorder the terms:
8 + 1.1x = 9.1

Solving
8 + 1.1x = 9.1

Solving for variable 'x'.

Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-8' to each side of the equation.
8 + -8 + 1.1x = 9.1 + -8

Combine like terms: 8 + -8 = 0
0 + 1.1x = 9.1 + -8
1.1x = 9.1 + -8

Combine like terms: 9.1 + -8 = 1.1
1.1x = 1.1

Divide each side by '1.1'.
x = 1

Simplifying
x = 1
