You add -2m to the other side and add 9 to the other side as well and then add 2m +16m= 18m and then divide 9 by 18

-2m = 16m - 9

First, take '16m' from both sides.

-2m - 16m = -9
Second, add '-2m - 16m' to get '-18m'.

-18m = -9
Third, divide both sides by '-18'.

m = (-9)/(-18)
Fourth, change the fraction into a negative.

m = (9)/(18)
Fifth, find the GCF of 9 and 18.
The GCF is 9.
Sixth, divide the numerator by the GCF.

9 ÷
9 = 1
Seventh, divide the denominator by the GCF.

18 ÷
9 = 2
Eighth, rewrite the fraction in simplest form.

m = (1)/(2)

Answer as fraction:
m = (1)/(2)
Answer as decimal:
m = 0.5
