4 + x + 2 - 2x = 5
First,
simplify to 4 - x + 2.
Second,
keep the '- x' and add 4 + 2.
Third,
subtract '6' from both sides.
Fourth,
subtract 5 - 6.
Fifth,
multiply both sides by -1.
Answer:
x = 1
