What is the solution of the inequality

-6x-17 \geq 8x+25\\\\-6x-8x \geq 25+17\\\\-14x \geq 42\ /:(-14)\\\\x \leq -3\ \ \ \Leftrightarrow\ \ \ x\ \in(-\infty;\ -3>

-6x -17 ≥ 8x + 25

Subtract 8x from each side:

-14x -17 ≥ 25

Add 17 to each side:

-14x ≥ 42

Divide each side by 14 :

-x ≥ 3

Change the signs. (Multiply each side by -1.)
That's when you have to flip the inequality symbol.

x ≤ -3
