The easiest way to do this (in my opinion) is to switch signs:
4.75 - 2.19:

4.75
-2.19
=2.56

Finally, put the - sign back to get
-2.56

The answer is B.

Add. –4.75 + 2.19 A. –6.94 B. –2.56 C. 2.56 D. 6.94
