-14 + x = 5
First,
regroup terms. / Your problem should look like: x - 14 = 5
Second,
add 14 to both sides. / Your problem should look like: x = 5 + 14
Third,
simplify 5 + 14 to get 19. / Your problem should look like: x = 19
