4(2x - 1) = -10(x - 5)

First, expand. / Your problem should look like: 8x - 4 = -10x + 50
Second, add 4 to both sides. / Your problem should look like: 8x = -10x + 50 + 4
Third, simplify -10x + 50 + 4 to -10x + 54. / Your problem should look like: 8x = -10x + 54
Fourth, add 10x to both sides. / Your problem should look like: 8x + 10x = 54
Fifth, simplify 8x + 10x to get 18x. / Your problem should look like: 18x = 54
Sixth, divide both sides by 18. / Your problem should look like: x =
(54)/(18)
Seventh, simplify
(54)/(18) to 3. / Your problem should look like: x = 3

Answer: x = 3
