Add 6x to both sides

3 = 10x + 11

Subtract 11 on both sides

-8 = 10x

Divide by 10 on both sides

x = -8/10 = -4/5

Add 6 on both sides

-6x + 6x + 3 = 4x + 6x + 11
3 = 10x + 11

Subtract 11 on both sides

3 - 11 = 10x + 11 - 11
-8 = 10x

Divide by 10 on both sides

-8/10 = 10x/10
-8/10 = x

Simplify

x = -8/10
x = -4/5
x = -0.8
