(12 times/16 seconds) = (x times/60 seconds)

x times = (12 times/16 seconds)*(60 seconds)

x = 45 times

Answer: 45 times

Explanation:

Given : A lion's heart beats 12 times in 16 seconds.

Let the number of heart beats of lion in 60 seconds be 'x'

As heart beats and time are directly proportional .

Thus, we get

(x)/(60)=(12)/(16)\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=(12)/(16)*60\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=45

Therefore, the lion's heart beats 45 times in 60 seconds.
