zero exponent
that means 0 times of that number
remember that x^3 also equals x^3 times 1
so when you have x^0 that also equals x^0 times 1 except there are no x's to multiply so it is always just 1

x^0=1 always
x can be any number

the generalization is (any number)^0=1
