it'll be 1
(5)/(6) inches on the map

since 12 miles is a quarter of an inch, we need to see how much it will be for 66 miles. we divide 66 by 12, which gives us 5
(1)/(2)

we multiply that by
(1)/(4), which gives us thusly 1
(5)/(6) of an inch = 66 miles.

(1)/(4)\ in\ on\ the\ map \ \rightarrow\ \ 12\ miles\\ \\x\ \rightarrow\ 66\ miles\\ \\12\cdot x= (1)/(4)\cdot 66\ /:12\\ \\ x= (33)/(2) \cdot (1)/(12) \\ \\x= (3\cdot11)/(2\cdot3\cdot4) \\ \\x= (11)/(8) \ [in]\\ \\x=1.75\ [in]
