so triple of 3/4 is 3/4 times 3/1=9/4=2 and 1/4
so 1 and 5/8
1 add 5/8 plus X=2 and 1/4
2=1 plus 1
1=8/8
1/4=2/8
8/8+2/8=10/4
1 and 5/8+x=1 and 10/8
subtract 1 from both sides
5/8+x=10/8
subtract 5/8 from both sides
x=5/8
