The Alps are a major European mountain range which contains some of the continent's tallest peaks. The Alps are located in France, Switzerland, Italy, Monaco, Slovenia, Austria, Lichtenstein and Germany. The Alpine region in each country has it's own strong identity and culture, such as farming, cheese making and woodwork. One of the highest peaks in the Alps is the Mont Blanc which spans the French-Italian border at 15,781 feet. Another high peak in the Alps mountain range is Matterhorn.
