so y is greater than x

the dot is on the 89 so we can eliminate B
the s choice we have left are

we notice that 89<p is just p>89 flipped around, they are equal so we can eliminate those 2
the one that is left is 89>p

If it's
< or
\le then it goes to the left.

If it's
> or
\ge then it goes to the right.

So it has to have a
< sign, which takes out A and D, because A is the same as
\sf~p>89.

The number shown is the number that the dot will be placed on, so the number is 89, which takes out B.

So we have:
