the initial population of a town is 2600, and it grows with a doubling time of 10 years. what will the population be in 8 years?

In 10 years it would be 5200. So if you divide that by 10 you get how much it grows a year, which would be 520, and you multiply it by 8 to get where it would be on the 8th year. 4160

Where:

P(T)= to the population over time.

T= Time

Po= Initial population.

Now we just have to inser our values into the equation:


P(t) = Po(2)^{(t)/(10)}\\P(t) = 2600(2)^{(8)/(10)}\\P(t) =2600(2)^(.8)\\P(t) = 2600(1.7411)\\P(t)=4526.8

So the answer would be 4526.86.
