Note that the diagonal forms the hypotenuse of the triangle with base 50 ft and height 20 ft.

So the length of diagonal can be obtained using Pythagoras Theorem as follows,


\begin{gathered} \text{Hypotenuse}^2=\text{Base}^2+\text{height}^2 \\ \text{Hypotenuse}^2=\text{50}^2+\text{2}0^2 \\ \text{Hypotenuse}^2=\text{2500}+400 \\ \text{Hypotenuse}^2=\text{2}900 \\ \text{Hypotenuse}=\sqrt[]{2900} \\ \text{Hypotenuse}\approx53.85 \end{gathered}

Thus, the length of the diagonal of the pool is 53.85 approximately.

Since third option is closest to the answer, third option will be the correct choice.
