\begin{gathered} -6x^4-4x^2-16x^{} \\ \text{factors of 16:} \\ 1,2,4,8,16 \\ \text{factors of 4:} \\ 1,2,4 \\ \text{factors of 6:} \\ 1,2,3,6 \\ \text{Factors of x}^4 \\ x,x^2,x^3,x^4 \\ \text{Factors of x}^2 \\ x,x^2 \\ \text{Factors of x:} \\ x \\ \end{gathered}

Therefore, the GCF is:

\begin{gathered} 2x \\ so\colon \\ -6x^4-4x^2-16x^{}=2x(-3x^3-2x-8) \\ -6x^4-4x^2-16x^{}=-2x(3x^3+2x+8) \end{gathered}
