im guessing that 8v2 means 8v² so that's how I will solve it
first, factor
(8v-16)(1v+3)
--------------------------
if finding v values, set each =0
8v-16=0
8v=16
v=2
------------
v+3=0
v=-3

0 = 8v^2+8v-48
=8(v^2+v-6)
=8(v-2)(v+3)
so v= 2 or v=-3
