$(1)/(4)x+18=x \\ 18=x-(1)/(4)x \\ 18=(3)/(4)x \ \ \ |* (4)/(3) \\ 18 * (4)/(3) = x \\ 6 * 4=x \\ x=24$

The number is 24.
