Define Synthetic Division: In algebra, the synthetic division is a method for manually performing Euclidean division of polynomials, with less writing and fewer calculations than long division

When finding slant asymtoptes, I prefer synthetic division to find the equation of the line. This is because:

(i) it allows one to calculate without writing variables

(ii) it also uses calculations and takes significantly less space on paper than long division.

(iii) the subtarction in long division are converted to additions by switching the signs at the very begining, preventing sign errors
