Raise 49 to the power of 2 to get 2401.
7^3x+4=2401x+1

Raise 7 to the power of 3 to get 343.
343x+4=2401x+1

Since 2401x contains the variable to solve for, move it to the left-hand side of the equation by subtracting 2401x from both sides.
343x+4−2401x=1

Add 343x and −2401x to get −2058x.
−2058x+4=1

Since 4 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by subtracting 4 from both sides.
−2058x=−4+1

Add −4 and 1 to get −3.
−2058x=−3

Divide each term in the equation by −2058.
