Answer:
Children in colonial times played a big role in society today. An example of this has to do with our education. Most of our American schools use the fall through spring school years, this all began because children had to help out on the farm during summer. Thankfully, we don't have to work on the farms unless we live on them, but now we all have a summer break to go and do what we please. Children also helped out at home with making clothes for people to wear, making soap, farming, cooking, and cleaning up around the house which soon created "the chore list". Nowadays us kids hate the chore list, but back then children's live was worked around the chore list.
